05.07.2012Four UNIKIS PhD students in traineeships in Belgium

Nicaise Amundala Drazo (Faculty of Sciences), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Herwig Leirs (Antwerp University) , is finalising his study entitled ‘Écologie des populations des espèces des rongeurs champêtres dans une perspective de gestion d’espèces nuisibles aux cultures à Kisangani (RD Congo)’.

Sylvestre Gambalemoke Mbalitini (Faculty of Sciences), working under Dr. Erik Verheyen (RBINS) and Dr. Rainer Hutterer (Koenigsmuseum, Bonn, Germany), is completing his study ’Taxonomy, phylogeny and phylogeography of shrews in the Congo Basin’ , while Célestin Mizani Danadu (Faculty of Sciences) is finishing ‘Taxonomic revision of the catfish genus Synodontis ‘ under Prof. Dr. Jos Snoeks (RMCA) and Dr. Emmanuel Vreven (RMCA).

Dr méd. Desiré Badi Falay Sadiki (Faculty of Medicine) is tackling ‘Recherche sur la problématique des zoonoses transmises à l’homme par les rongeurs dans la ville de Kisangani’ under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Herwig Leirs, Dr. Joelle Gouy de Bellocq, and Dr. Anne Laudisoit (Antwerp University).
